Story of the Week – Win Together

Special Olympic Win' strategy: Remember the incident at the Seattle special Olympics 100m race?
A group of 9 mentally and physically challenged athletes had just begun running the race with a relish to win. Suddenly, one boy slipped on the track, tumbled to the ground and began to cry. On hearing this, the others stopped and went back to the boy.
A girl with Down's syndrome kissed him on his head and said -'This will make it better'. Then, they linked their arms together and crossed the finish line together. The applause in the stadium went on for several minutes.
This popular story is retold from time to time because we all know deep down that helping others win is more fulfilling than winning for ourselves – even if it means slowing down and changing our course.
This week, let's remember to win and celebrate together.
